Acquisition Of AASC's Metal Plasma Thruster Technology Finalized
Benchmark Space Systems Finalizes Acquisition as Part of Hybrid Propulsion Strategy
Burlington, Vermont – October 4, 2022 Following on from our press release in early August announcing a definite agreement to acquire Alameda Applied Sciences Co. (AASC)'s propulsion technologies, as of this week, Benchmark Space Systems officially sealed the deal.
The robust metal plasma thruster system, offered as 𝑿𝒂𝒏𝒕𝒖𝒔, can single-handedly address most cubesat missions and will be an integral tool for microsat mission optimization with high endurance ‘cruise control’ functionality for station keeping, mission extension, and ultra-precise pointing operations.
The acquisition highlights an important milestone in Benchmark’s role in pioneering hybrid propulsion solutions that will deliver unprecedented operational versatility across cubesats, microsats, ESPAs, and OTVs.
