Benchmark Space Systems Named One of Fast Company’s 
10 Most Innovative Space Companies of 2023

In-space mobility developer joins NASA, Terran Orbital, Ursa Major, Firefly Aerospace, Capella Space and others named to the highly-coveted annual list of space leaders

Burlington, VT – March 3, 2023 – Benchmark Space Systems, the leading in-space mobility and small satellite propulsion systems provider, has been named to Fast Company’s top 10 list of most innovative space companies, as part of its prestigious annual list of the World’s Most Innovative Companies for 2023.

This year’s list highlights the businesses at the forefront of their respective industries, paving the way for the innovations of tomorrow. These companies are setting the standard with some of the greatest accomplishments of the modern world. In addition to the World’s 50 Most Innovative Companies, 540 organizations are recognized across 54 sectors and regions.

Benchmark Space Systems develops, tests and delivers green propulsion systems for small and large satellites, and orbital transport vehicles (OTVs) operating in GEO, MEO and LEO orbits. The company’s flight-proven thrusters and propulsion systems have already played key roles in powering commercial and government satellite missions in space. 

Benchmark continues to see exponential growth, more than doubling in size every year since it was founded in 2017. Its lineup of thrusters, propulsion systems, and collision avoidance and deorbit solutions have driven demand and manufacturing capabilities across the organization. Momentum in 2022 saw the company book more than 250 orders for its chemical, electric and hybrid offerings.
