Embedded Software Engineer
Benchmark Space Systems has an immediate opening for an Embedded Software Engineer. Applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering and 3-5 years of professional experience, or a Master’s Degree in a related field and 1 or more years of professional experience. As part of a small team responsible for the embedded electronics and software, the Embedded Software Engineer will interact with other software, electrical, and mechanical engineers along with vendors to develop new embedded electronics assemblies from concept through design validation and delivery of flight-qualified systems. This position has direct responsibility for development and testing of the embedded software, and will work with electrical and validation engineers on testing the combined hardware and software system. This role requires an individual with a solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals, as well as general familiarity with electronic circuits. The ESE will work alongside electrical engineers in testing, and familiarity with test tools such as logic analyzers, protocol decoders, and oscilloscopes is required. The successful applicant will also have experience with software best practices including unit testing, automated build environments, and Hardware-In-Loop testing.

Test Technician
Benchmark Space Systems has an immediate opening for the position of Test Technician. Applicants should have a High School diploma or GED with 5-7 years of professional experience, or a 2-year technical degree with 3-5 years of professional experience. The Test Technician will be responsible for working under the direction of the engineering team to facilitate R&D testing. Responsibilities will include working with low thrust propulsion systems, data acquisition, setting up and monitoring thermal vacuum chambers, mechanical assembly and operation of thrust stands, lab equipment inventory, and chemical handling.
