Benchmark Space offers scalable thruster designs with additively manufactured core components that can be easily configured for individual spacecraft to large constellations. We attribute the growing demand for our products to our On-Demand Pressurization System (ODPS™), “green” propellants, and the ability to deliver integration-ready systems in a best-in-class lead time.

Starling

Our integrated warm-gas thruster system combines our ODPS™ technology with non-toxic, powdered propellant to provide a standardized, bus agnostic propulsion system that eliminates many integration, handling, and range safety costs. Standard sizes range from 0.5U to 2U bundled solutions, to deliver enough thrust to perform several Cubesat maneuvers or handle control and desaturation needs on larger Smallsats. Customers who choose Starling are drawn to the short lead time, simplicity and reliability, and its unpressurized launch capability that together improve revenue and safety of your. Starling is scheduled for its first space mission in 2020.

Halcyon

The most versatile system in our integrated products line-up combines an HTP thruster developed by legacy Tesseract with Benchmark’s fluid handling and flight controller subsystems in a turn-key system offering. The Halcyon takes advantage of readily available catalyst materials in its monopropellant configuration resulting in a reliable non-toxic chemical-class solution with moderate specific impulse and excellent pulse-mode performance for precision operations. For more demanding missions with large movements and demanding mobility requirements, the Halcyon is available in a ‘dual mode’ configuration, which takes advantage of post-catalyzed gas-gas injection that can double the specific impulse of the unit. This system is suitable for most smallsat missions, enabling the widest range of on-orbit mobility operations of any small satellite propulsion solution on the market.The Halcyon is scheduled to make it’s on-orbit debut in Q4 2020.

Peregrine

Benchmark’s innovative green bi-propellant system was developed around our patented micromixing technique to enable hypergolic combustion at much smaller scale than traditional thrusters. By eliminating high-cost and supply-limited catalyst materials and delivering over 270s of specific impulse, the Peregrine product line delivers unmatched cost-of-performance for rapid movement and longer burn operations. Missions that require maximum thrust performance, while avoiding toxic propellants, launch manifest, or other cost challenges with alternative chemical propulsion offerings will benefit from this innovative solution, available with optional ODPS™ technology. The Peregrine is scheduled for full qualification testing at AFRL in 2020.

Flatsat IEK

A Flatsat Integration Evaluation Kit is available to allow our partners and customers to evaluate bus compatibility and functionality of our mobility control board. A modular system, with simulated loads to mimic a full propulsion system tailored to your upcoming or anticipated mission needs. Acquiring an IEK can save a great deal of integration effort and facilitate our partnership with your team early on in your mission development process. Each IEK is delivered with a user-guide and ICD for your prospective product solution.
