Benchmark Space Systems is deeply committed to STEM educational outreach. Stimulating, supporting, and connecting with the next generation of aerospace professionals will strengthen and enrich a vibrant industry in the years to come. Our recent efforts touched multiple levels of young learners, and for many, provided their first exposure to the space industry.

Outreach 1 cropped_duncan tube bendAt our headquarters in Burlington, VT, we welcomed a group of middle schoolers from nearby King Street Center, an invaluable community resource that serves a diverse population of ~120 students through various programs and activities. We toured them around our lab and production space and shared the importance of in-space mobility.

We sent a team to the University of Vermont's Aiken Discover Engineering, a full day of STEM-related presentations and workshops for middle and high schoolers. We partnered with the students to construct water propulsion rockets to demonstrate scientific concepts like Newton’s Laws of Motion.Outreach 3Outreach 9 cropped brad

Our Director of Engineering, Bradley Hoover, contributed to a panel hosted by the Vermont Epscor (uvm)/NASA Space Grant Consortium for Vermont college students interested in pursuing careers in aerospace. He offered insights from his experience pursuing professional goals and moving through a challenging, competitive industry.

Our industry has ambitious goals for the future of space. We will need all the enthusiasm, thought diversity, and talent we can mobilize.
